Tim Lee Tickets: Enter Our Fan Appreciation Giveaway!

Mel Brooks was close when he said “Humor is just another defense against the universe.” Scientist-turned-comedian Tim Lee, PhD might say it’s really “the best defense against the lab.” Science can be a profession of highs and lows and I’m not going to say where we spend most of our time… So how can we pull ourselves out of a slump or celebrate the week’s good results? That’s right, comedy.
To say a special thanks to our Fans and Followers on Facebook and Twitter, we’re working with Tim to give away tickets to his upcoming show in Boston on July 9th. If you’re new to his work, check out our interview with Tim Lee and a sample of his act.
We figured if Tim can step away from the bench and create hours of great material, surely we can pull off one joke… So to win the tickets, we’ve turned the tables on the comedian and the audience. Through our Facebook or Twitter pages, tell us your favorite jokes (up to three on each site) and if you make us laugh the hardest, you’ll win four tickets to see Tim live in Boston.
Not in the Boston area? Don’t worry, we’ve got a rich “Giveaway Pipeline” with plans for a number of regionally-specific, as well as universal, rewards for our followers.

How to Enter:
Step 1. Go to the BenchFly Fanpage and show your support by giving us the thumbs up.

Step 2. Click on the the “Fan Giveaway!” tab

Step 3. Click “Add a comment…” to leave your joke on the board. Done!

Enter by adding the hastag #thisismyentrytowinticketstoseeTimLeethroughtheBenchFlyFanGiveaway. Hold on- maybe that’s not the best use of characters… Let’s try this instead:

Step 2. Include @BenchFly somewhere in your funny tweets to enter.

We’ll carefully monitor our Comments and Tweets to find the one that we think is the funniest on each platform. Since this is a thank you to our social media Fans, only jokes entered through Facebook and Twitter will be considered eligible.
Have some friends you can trust and want to increase your odds of going to the show? Invite them to enter! Since both the Facebook and Twitter winners will get four tickets, telling a few friends to enter will increase your chances of going – assuming you’re in their Top 3…

Rules:
- Contest ends: July 2nd, 2010 at 5:00pm (EST)
- Judging: We will pick our favorite jokes from each website (Facebook and Twitter)
- Maximum number of entries: Three (3) jokes per website (six total). If more than three jokes are left on Facebook or Twitter, the first three on each site will be regarded as the official entries.
- Ticket delivery: Tickets will be available for pick-up at the venue in Boston the night of the show (July 9th).
- Facebook entries: only jokes left on the “Fan Giveaway” tab are eligible.
- Must be 21 or over to enter.
