Kick Off the New Year with a New Camera!
by
By now it’s safe to assume the New Year’s hangover is safely behind us. Likely, so are half of the resolutions we swore we’d keep… (Why Do Your New Year’s Resolutions Fail?) However, one resolution remains alive – “to upload more videos to BenchFly!” So we’re here to help.
On March 1, 2010, the video with the highest number of views (uploaded between Jan 1, 2010 and March 1, 2010) will win a free Flip Videocamera! So the earlier your video is uploaded, the more time you have to tell your labmates, friends, family, pets, etc. to check out your video.
The irony of having a video-based contest to win a video camera is not lost on us… And while it may seem like the prize is necessary to enter, these days most of us have at least one friend with a videocamera. Heck, even some departments now have videocameras in order to record seminars or document drunken escapades at departmental retreats (the latter often more valuable)…
If you already have a camera, having a second one actually make filming even more fun. The Flip camera can be used to shoot a scene from a different perspective simultaneously, increasing your shooting options. Of course, you can also give the camera away as a gift or sell it on eBay… In the words of the immortal Bobby Brown, “It’s [your] prerogative…”
So grab your camera and share a few laboratory techniques. Somewhere out there, a fellow scientist needs your help…
