Larry’s Luxurious Artichoke Dip
by
What do Lamborghinis, Rolexes, elevators in your house, and artichoke dip have in common? They’re all things we dreamed of as kids. Hold on- not everyone’s a Rolex fan. Actually, they’re all objects you can use to impress your friends! Luckily, one of those items costs less than our annual salary…
This is an absolute must-have in the arsenal of easy, inexpensive and impressive appetizers. It’s also a classic because the recipe couldn’t be any easier to shop for – all we need to remember is the number “1” – three times. I think we can pull that off.
Ingredients
- 1 cup Fresh Parmesan cheese (grated; look for an 8 oz. container in the cheese section)
- 1 cup Mayonnaise (regular or low-fat)
- 1 cup Artichoke hearts (usually 1 can)
(Optional) To reach an MC Hammer-solid-gold-bathroom-faucets level of luxury, add the following:
- 1 tablespoon of fresh onion (finely chopped)
Procedure
- Finely chop artichoke hearts
- Mix artichoke hearts, mayo, and cheese in large bowl (add onion at this point if you’re going all the way).
- Place the mixture in an oven-safe dish
- Cook dip at 350°F for roughly 20 minutes, or until dip bubbles through and browns lightly on top.
- Serve with tortilla chips, toasted pita bread, triscuits, bread- whatever you like
- Tell Gordon Ramsay he “COOKS LIKE A DONKEY!” when he hounds you for the recipe…
Scaling up the Reaction
Unlike those annoying scaling issues chemists deal with when trying to increase the size of a pilot reaction, this dip is impervious. Double, triple, or quadruple the recipe and enjoy the same exact flavor (just a LOT more of it)!
Serving Instructions for True Decadence
With your friend in the passenger seat, slowly pull the Lamborghini into the elevator. Holding the bowl in your right hand, slowly extend your arm, being sure to flash the Rolex, and then smoothly ask “want some artichoke dip?” It will blow their mind.
.
So next time you have an appetizer emergency, just remember to dial 1-1-1!

If you add spinach, you can pass it off as a vegetable course too.
