The Good Luck Bench Fairy: Failed Experiments are a Thing of the Past

When asked what makes a successful scientist, researchers answered “work ethic, intelligence, and luck.” For many, the realization that a large component of their career success hinged on a factor out of their control was upsetting. We agreed and decided something had to be done to bring lady luck into the lab – specifically, to our bench.

After months of tinkering, we finally found the magical combo. Turns out a wand isn’t enough for a fairy in the lab – the real key is in a secret formula she carries in her erlenmeyer flask and sprinkles over the benchtop. So today we help scientists everywhere harness the previously elusive power of luck. Without further adieu, we introduce to you The Good Luck Bench Fairy.

Instructions:

  1. Print the fairy below
  2. Name your fairy
  3. Tape the fairy somewhere on your bench – preferably a couple of feet above the bench surface so her magic dust can disperse over the entire workspace
  4. Know that you will only have good luck at your bench from now on. Believe it.
  5. (Optional) Start planning your Nobel acceptance speech.
